More Trees and Tea, Please!

Yes, it’s a long title. I’m a rebel with a cause. No tea review today though. Instead I’ve got some trivia and more tree love to share. ❤ I don’t know how I produced the photo above, but I like it! That tree knows how to shake it!

Tea Trivia:

When was tea introduced to England?

Answer: Tea was introduced to England in 1662 when Charles II married Portugal’s Catherine of Braganze. Her dowry included chests of tea and the regions of Bombay and Tangier. [source:tea answers.com ] Sweet dowry!

Tree Trivia:

How many trees does one person need for a years worth of oxygen?

Answer: 7-8 trees per person a year.  Now I feel as if I should be planting 7-8 trees per year. I’m not earning my keep! *holds breath* [source:sciencefocus.com ]

My feet enjoying sitting under a tree, looking at other trees, and feeling peaceful in the evening light.

Oh, there’s my head! 😃 Some people enjoy taking photos with celebrities. “Not I” said the fly. “Give me a tree and a cup of tea. They bark, but they don’t bite.” (Okay, I made that up. No fly ever said this.)

On this particular evening I was having water after my walk. I may have also watered the tree when my bottle fell over. 😀 So I did something useful towards saving the trees.

Watered Trees!

“And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”

Ezekiel 47:12

“Christians, true believers in Christ; who like trees have a root, are rooted in the love of God, in the person and grace of Christ, and have the root of the matter in them, the grace of the blessed Spirit; and who also is their sap, of which they are full, and so grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Christ; grow up in him, and grow upwards and heavenwards in their affections and desires, and in the exercise of faith and hope: they are the trees of the Lord, trees of righteousness, good trees, that bring forth good fruit; and are often in Scripture compared to trees the most excellent, as palm trees, cedars, olives, myrtles, &c. and wherever the Gospel comes, these trees arise, and are watered and made fruitful by it…”

  1. That’s a good trick. Your feet seem to be pointing in a different direction to your head. You must be secretly practicing Yoga (Sorry being silly)…

Rather sadly I didn’t know that about my own country.

Yes we have roots. But those roots allow us to grow as people. To flourish and at the same time return positive things to the planet. 🙏

    1. Thanks Bridget! Yes, getting outdoors is good especially when you live in a basement suite. It’s not the best environment for me, so I am spending a lot of time outdoors while the weather is so nice. I need to carry that through the fall and Winter to keep my S.A.D. at bay. That’s one of the reasons I set a goal of walking everyday. It gets me out into the natural day light more. It has helped with my energy.

      1. I have heard of daylight lamps that are supposed to help with that. Have you looked into those. Also, I wonder if taking a vitamin D supplement would help? I am glad you can get that natural daylight for now. I just wish there was a solution for the winter months too.

      2. I do use a daylight lamp and I also take vitamin D. I’m not sure how much taking vitamin D helps, but where we live we don’t get enough naturally due to the lack of sunshine for much of the year, so it’s sort of a “must-do” here or you’ll become deficient.

  2. Ooh, what fun posts we are getting from you today! I love trivia! Those are some fascinating tidbits! I shall tuck them away for when I need to appear especially knowlegable on tea or trees. 😊 *Patiently hopes for the right Jeopardy clue to turn up.* And again, you share such wonderful scripture. Thanks for the delightful humor and the encouragement all wrapped in one! ❤

  3. Hi Tina, I am drinking tea and looking at trees while I write. 😊 Two of my favorites! My yard has enough trees for a year’s worth of oxygen, and the leaves are beautiful in autumn, but raking them is a full-time job. Glad you are walking, resting, and enjoying the view! 🍃🍁🍂
