My Light on the Horizon

Too tired to reach

Too worn to seek

Dragging my stumbling feet

Waiting for my reprieve

Anchored and out of reach

Longing to rise and speak

I try but my voice is weak

Afloat but I’m moored to the beach

When will joy be the song of my heart?

Lord, I’m worn

I don’t know where to start

It’s a push and my mind is a maze

A mist rises

And I’m caught in the haze.

But Your word is a light to my path

Help me soar when I take your right hand

Let me live like a bird who is free

Unfettered by life’s slow bleed

Let me rise on a wind that holds weight

Open wide the door to my passionless cage

Eyes wide, alive and wide awake

Lord, I need Your great power to guide the way.

Shine your light on my moody horizon

Let me laugh at the days still to come

Breath your abundant life into these dry bones

Top me up with Your undying love.

Your Word is a Path Unto My Feet

Truth’s shining light guides me in my choices and decisions;

the revelation of your Word makes my pathway clear.

To live my life by your righteous rules

has been my holy and lifelong commitment.

I’m bruised and broken, overwhelmed by it all;

breathe life into me again by your living word.

Lord, receive my grateful thanks

and teach me more of how to please you.

Even though my life hangs in the balance,

I’ll keep following what you’ve taught me, no matter what.

The ungodly have done their best to throw me off track,

but I’ll not deviate from what you’ve told me to do.

Everything you speak to me is like joyous treasure,

filling my life with gladness.

I have determined in my heart to obey whatever you say,

fully and forever!

  1. I’ve been thinking of this verse so much lately (Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path)
So thankful for the many times God has brought it to my presence lately!! Not a coincidence at all.❤️
Thankful for His guidance in times of sorrow and gladness.

    1. Definitely not a coincidence! I still remember our chat about coincidences and “God sightings.” He Definitely makes Himself known in our lives. So thankful for that. ❤ I hope you’re all well, Ali.

  2. Tina, thanks for sharing God’s uplifting light. His grace and peace brings harmony to His infinite horizon of life. I need to read and study more verses from Psalm 119. God’s peace!
