Warning: Inhaling the spicy fragrance of this tea bag may singe your nose hairs. Trust me on this one. It’s important to heed warnings.
It’s time for another T Tastes Tea! Why has it been so long since I’ve partook in a tea tasting? Besides the fact that I had too much tea on hand to justify purchasing a new box, no reason, really.
With that made crystal clear, let’s move on to Stash Ginger Fire Chai Tea. It’s been sitting in my cupboard for ages. To be honest, I thought it was “Fireside” tea when I drafted my post. This Freudian sip ‘splains it all. Clearly, Stash Ginger Fire Chai isn’t a summer patio brew. It’s a spicy combination that can warm the whole body from head to toe and tummy to tail.
So what’s in it?
- ginger root
- yerba mate
- cinnamon
- natural vanilla flavour
- and… *drum roll*
- natural ginger flavour
If you’re wondering what yerba mate is, so did I. Upon reading many optimistic facts about this ingredient, most of them proved to be unproven. Huh… *crickets chirp*
Let me simply tell you that this particular “mate” is a traditional South American drink made from the leaves and stems of the Ilex paraguariensis plant. Don’t worry, I can’t pronounce it either.
So how does Ginger Fire Chai Taste? 🔥 🍵 ☕️ 🫖
I wasn’t sure, really. My cup of tea was too hot to taste much of anything. To enhance the flavour and cool things down I added some almond milk and honey and gave it a good stir. Once my taste buds recovered, it was a pleasant tasting spicy warm cup of tea. It’s difficult to say how much of this was the tea itself, and how much was the addition of the almond milk and honey.
Speaking of the addition of Milk and Honey…
As we sip our tea with milk and honey we can reflect on what Scripture reveals about God’s provisions. According to this article HERE on Israel Today, David Lazarus writes that a land flowing with milk and honey is often mistaken as symbolic for luxury and abundance.
What does a land flowing with milk and honey truly depict?
David illustrates the true picture by calling our attention to Deuteronomy 11, In essence, this verse reveals that God will be the source of their milk and honey (or the source of their blessings and provisions.) Not the land itself.
Furthermore, David calls our attention to Duetoronomy 11:8-12 where God informs Israel that this land He’s bringing them into won’t be as hospitable for planting as it was back in Egypt. Why is this important? As Deuteronomy 11 reveals, God required Israel to keep His commands and serve Him with all their hearts. If they didn’t, His anger would burn against them, and the rains they needed to thrive in this new land would cease. The way God put it was that he was putting before them a blessing and a curse. It was their choice how to proceed with this knowledge. David Lazarus puts it beautifully when he states that the Scriptures are trying to teach us that we ought to be longing for something else. For a time when we can stand in awe and wonder at the God of Israel who provides for His children with milk, and honey, even in the dry places, and turns the bitter sweet.
As believers in Christ, we are grafted onto Israel’s family tree. This means that God has gone one step further to ensure that we reach that land flowing with His blessings and provisions. Through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, those who accept Him as their Lord and Saviour will be enabled, through the power of God’s own Spirit within them, to live according to His commands. (Or in other words He will give us new hearts.) I guess you could say this is our milk and honey.
Jesus’ said it was finished on the cross…. He meant it. Sip, and meditate on that one. ☕️ 🫖 🥰
He will sustain you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks Carlos, you reminded me of other times God provided.
John 6:31-35
Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
“Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

The tea sounds very intriguing! Thank you for broadening my horizons. I would say I would try it, but I don’t know if I will find it in my area. I will try to keep an eye out. ☕️ And thank you for the reflection as well. A couple of things struck me due to conversations I had with the Lord today. 1 – “God will be the source of their milk and honey” – This morning I read this verse in Psalm 107, “For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” (v 9 NLT) I talked to the Lord about how we each have a whole only He can fill. And 2 – “Or in other words He will give us new hearts.” – I really loved this because for a while I have prayed and asked God for a new heart. I can see how He has been changing my heart, and earlier today I was praying and told God I don’t know how He does it, but I’m thankful for His miraculous work. I’m so thankful for Jesus. He is everything to us. 🙌 Thank you, friend, for this mix of fun and inspiration! ♥️

I’m so glad that my post spoke to you, Bridget. Or rather, it furthered your conversation with the Lord. From my limited point of view, how He does it is with a a whole lot of Love and patience. 😊 And it IS quite miraculous. It’s only through His wisdom, power, patience and love that we are changed. ❤️ You’re so welcome, Bridget. It’s a real joy to share God’s word and a blessing that He allows us to praise Him in so many different ways, including using a bit of our own personality and creature comforts to do it.

I am doing alright. 😊 I think I’m set for college again, which will begin next Saturday. 😯 I’m not as nervous about college this time because I have a better understanding of what to expect, but exams…. I can do poorly on exams sometimes. Prayer for those pesky college exams would be appreciated. Actually, any prayer regarding my studies would be so appreciated. Thank you in advance. How are you doing?
