My poetry isn’t flowing, currently. So, I’ve gone into my archives, retrieving a poem that never made it onto my blog. It’s from August 31, 2021. Interestingly enough, August 31st will be my first day of classes. I will be doing part-time studies while continuing to work during the week. This means that I will be in class for 10 hours every Saturday. That’s two 5-hour classes.
My journey has been a struggle in so many different ways, Therefore, when I wrote this poem I’d come to a place where I was so depending on God’s help, mercy, grace and provisions. I was feeling worn, tired, and struggling with my less than enthusiastic emotions.
The good news is that Jesus cares, can empathize, has compassion and never forsakes us. We can depend on the Lord to be there through every trial and struggle.
Plateau
My hope is low as I hit my plateau
I feel so discouraged
There seems nowhere to go
Where do I turn when I’m feeling so low?
The struggle is real when my faith starts to reel
And all that I know is the way that I feel.
Will you be my guide? Do you hold my heart?
I’m breaking a sweat here
Will I fall apart?
I can’t do this alone
I need amazing grace
I’m lost without Your love
I need some hope and a little faith.
So don’t leave me a wretch
Out of strength, out on a ledge
How high is Your love, Lord?
How far does it stretch?

He Holds the Whole World in His Hands
“But you, O Lord, your mercy-seat love is limitless, reaching higher than the highest heavens.
Your great faithfulness is infinite, stretching over the whole earth.
Your righteousness is unmovable, just like the mighty mountains.
Your judgments are as full of wisdom as the oceans are full of water.
Your tender care and kindness leave no one forgotten, not a man or even a mouse.
Psalm 36:5-10 (The Passion Translation)
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Psalm 36:10 (KJV)

Yes, 10 hours….. it’s tiring on top of work. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. 🙌

Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry you have to be in class so long. I hope they give short breaks so you can stretch your legs and give your mind a break. Beautiful poem! I am so thankful for the Lord’s love. Even when we are at our lowest, His love surrounds us. ♥️

Yes, we do get breaks, thankfully, and a nutrition break. But it sure is exhausting. But I am 2 modules down now. 6 more to go, including my 6 week practicum. I hope you are keeping well, Bridget. 😊💖

Thank you Tina for sharing this poem. Understand that we all face different degrees of plateaus in our lives. The verses from Psalm 36 remind us that we have a faithful God who always walks with us. He will lead us forward, well beyond where we presently stand. God’s grace and peace will strengthen you.

He is always there in His amazing Grace and love, but sometimes we forget to look at him and look at ourselves, or at the storm instead.
