Captivated

Inspiration–a feast that unexpectedly seized my soul
Eager–as one who brings good news, it came and found me
It haunted me and left its dreamy mark
Words–they are both my strength and my weakness
They draw me in and they draw me out
They dance within me, awakening my senses.
If only I could write like that!

Alas, I’m but a simple lass
With no grand tales to tell…

But is this so?
There’s a Prince I know
Who’s greater than words could ever say
For He casts His net and it comes back full
No parlor tricks
He’s the God I know!

My true inspiration, my jubilation
For nothing compares
I’m captivated.

Cast your net…

[Jesus] called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

John 21:5-6
