Lord, the world is so full of beautiful things
The sights and sounds of all that life brings
How quickly we adore created things
Before the one who brought all into being.
Lord help us to remember what must come first
Bind our hearts to Yours and teach us to thirst
For the things that please You and heal others hurts
When we falter forgive us
Don’t remember our worst.
Lord, the world is so full of beautiful things
The sights and sounds of all that life brings
Father, help us to praise You before all things
Then let us enjoy all that life brings.

Priorities: Love, Desire and Joy
“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”
Matthew 22:37 (NKJV)
“I must keep alive in myself the desire for my true country, which I shall not find till after death; I must never let it get snowed under or turned aside; I must make it the main object of life to press on to that country and to help others to do the same.”
C.S . Lewis
“Then it dawned on me that this is good and proper: to eat and drink and find the good in all the toil that we undertake under the sun during the few days God has given, for this is our lot in life. Also, God gives wealth, possessions, and power to enjoy those things, and He allows them to accept their lot in life and to enjoy hard work. This is God’s gift. For people like this have no time to despair over life because God keeps them so busy with a deep-seated joy.”
Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 (The Voice)

This is really beautifully penned Ma’am!!😁😁😊😊
The beauty of the poem is that the every line is so true and relatable..
Though these line are extreme joyous to read
“For the things that please You and heal others hurts
When we falter forgive us
Don’t remember our worst.
Lord, the world is so full of beautiful things”

I love this so much! So beautiful. Yet also sadly true how we turn to other things to quench our thirst. “Father, help us to praise You before all things” Yes and Amen! ✝️🙏❤️

Thank you Bridget. Yes, sad that we can be so blind, but beautiful that God can draw us to Him and open our eyes. ❤

Hi Tina, Love your “praise” poem; and the baby elephant! Joy is my meditational word for Lent, and the phrase “deep-seated joy” is wonderful. Oh, Lord, we praise you for your blessings, love, hope, and joy! Thanks for brightening my day! Love and peace! 💖🌟🦋🌺

Thank you. Even when it’s difficult to see the beauty in life it’s still there. There are still blue skies behind grey ones.
