More Enjoy-mint: P2

So far it’s been another stressful week!!!!! 😃 I’ll spare you the details. It’s time for tea!

This time I was well prepared to professionally perform tea perfection. I heated both pots as the instructions advised. Since there was no advice as to the method to do so, I chose the ‘pour hot water into each pot’ technique. Then I allowed both pots to sit and get nice and cosy.

Hey, not too cosy! This IS a challenge!

Next, I poured out the water, scratched my head, and realised that this makes no sense. Why didn’t I just put the tea bags into the water?

Again, I filled both pots with water and plunged each tea bag into their warmed vessels. Surely this will produce the best pot of tea I’ve tasted in the many years I’ve inhabited this earth.

As per the brewing instructions, they were steeped with due diligence.

Time to taste! No makeup, and my hair uncoifed (don’t judge) I partook in this pleasant practice.

Sip after sip after sip I contemplated what my taste buds were experiencing. Which tea is mintier? How does the green tea change the taste of the mint? It was all so scientific, yet also pleasing to my palate.

Time passed…

More time passed…

I came to no conclusion. Perhaps I’ve officially tasted too many mint teas. Or my competitors need a bit of honey? 🍯 🤔

The fight to the finish was broken up by the ominous, yet beautiful, sound of a train passing by. I let both competitors get as cosy as they wished and contemplated honey instead. 🍯 😋

I’m not sure that the directives on a box of tea are so trustworthy… but God’s instructions can be trusted.

Sweeter Than Honey

The teachings of the Lord are perfect.
They renew the soul.
The testimony of the Lord is dependable.
It makes gullible people wise.
The instructions of the Lord are correct.
They make the heart rejoice.
The command of the Lord is radiant.
It makes the eyes shine.
The fear of the Lord is pure.
It endures forever.
The decisions of the Lord are true.
They are completely fair.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey, even the drippings from a honeycomb.
As your servant I am warned by them.
There is a great reward in following them.

  1. A hostel friend of mine came to my room this afternoon, she wanted tea and she’s so shocked am at school without sugar , coffee , tea leaves , a spoon or a percolator. 🤣 Am just not a tea person. 😌 She said i had to atleast have a spoon , i mean she ought to be glad i had a cup , i didn’t plan on getting one, bought it as a present for someone but then decided to give her something else 😏. Thanks for the reminder on God’s word being relatable 😇

    1. Awe, you’re so welcome. Thank you for the cute anecdote. No, not everyone is a tea drinker, OR a coffee drinker. I don’t drink coffee. I never understood how anyone could enjoy something so bitter. But we all have our preferences. 🙂 Nothing wrong with that.

      1. True 🤣 Ohh African coffee isn’t bitter , on tv i see whites say coffee is bitter and it’s for grownups and just last holiday i found out that the coffee sold in most places at least in my Country, is light , in the processing they don’t heat or whatever the process is called till it’s dark brown like the one most whites take , so our coffee isn’t bitter. When am 25 , i will buy the bitter coffee and try it out 🤣🤣

      2. Yes, that so true. My husband recently explained that they heat the coffee beans to dark brown because they aquire beans from all over. This means that the beans are all different colours. They over cook it to get that even colour. What does the colour matter!? Isn’t it the taste that’s important? I think multi-colored coffee beans would actually be quite beautiful.

      3. Also now that i think about my comment again , i think i should explain how i get away with no utensils. Am on the school meal plan , my parents pay so i can go to the dh for all my meals 🤣 like if i were in a hostel i would definitely have sugar 😹 But in residential halls , all that is for tea lovers. Which is how my friend got her cup of tea , good neighbors 😇

      4. I see…. Well it’s good that you aren’t going hungry then. 🤣 Your parents have been kind to pay for meals! 😁 Good neighbors are good and for some tea is a necssi-tea. 🍵 ☕ 🫖

    1. Thanks Bridget. Yes, that sentence is a bit blunt in this translation. But I guess it makes a good point that when we go it alone we are like sheep without a shepherd. 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 …. we can be gullible.

  4. A great set up for the sweetness of God’s word. Love it.
The best tea is made from clear pristine lake water in the wilderness about day 5 brewed from over an open fire…mint or crushed wintergreen leaves with a hint of campfire ash and sometimes a mosquito found in the bottom of the hot water. Oh, ya, let the water settle from it roiling boil first.

  5. My two favorite mint teas are Perfectly Mint, by Bigelow, and Peppermint Herbal, by Harney and Sons. You don’t look stressed at all, Tina. Remember, what doesn’t kill you makes you stranger. 🙃

  6. The Peppermint and vanilla sounds more relaxing I think!! Kinda in the mood for tea now after that!!
Great verses, so incredibly thankful for God’s word!! There’s always an applicable verse to our situations. 🙌❤️

Hoping school is going well for you friend!?

  7. While coffee will remain my caffeine-powered, morning ignition switch, I enjoy a pleasant cup of tea in the afternoon. It soothes my wounds when my wife wins another card game. I never mind losing to her.
