Memes, Memes, what is a meme?

They can be full of wisdom 

They’re a laugh, or well meaning 

Some are for fun

In a nutshell, they’re for receiving. 

Some memes may be crude 

While others are far reaching 

Come to think of it, some are for dreaming.

So I’ll understand if you’re a critic who scoffs 

Some memes are too vague 

Some may be about socks. 😝 

Not everyone will agree, especially when they’re blue 

Even if they’re meant to encourage 

And speak a little truth.

For some days are heavy 

And some ways are hard 

So forgive the optimistic when they share their ‘greeting cards.’

For a meme has its limits

And so does the weary soul 

However, there’s a God up in heaven who sees all and knows 

So when the well memeing share their wordy treasure troves 

I’ll understand if you sigh and turn up your nose 

For I’ve been there as well, in a place where words can’t reach

Some days are just like that 

Keep holding on, and breathe.

It’s a Good Thing to Hope for Help from God

I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness,

the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed.

I remember it all—oh, how well I remember—

the feeling of hitting the bottom.

But there’s one other thing I remember,

and remembering, I keep a grip on hope:

God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out,

his merciful love couldn’t have dried up.

They’re created new every morning.

How great your faithfulness!

I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over).

He’s all I’ve got left.

God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks.

It’s a good thing to quietly hope,

quietly hope for help from God.

It’s a good thing when you’re young

 to stick it out through the hard times.
