Confidant(s)

When I’m feeling low

And I’m running out of steam

When I don’t have the words

And I need much more than sleep.

When my spirit’s drained

And I can’t absorb a thing

I just want to pause it all

And seek an ever giving spring.

I need my confidant(s)

My God, my living spring

When I’m running dry

And I don’t even want to sing.

I need my confidant(s)

My God, my everything

When my spirit’s running low

How I need the rest you bring.

The Treasure of Having Someone to Confide In

God:

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)

Friends:

Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence. Proverbs 27:9 (TPT)

Antidote

She’s searching for some comfort

To the way she too often feels

To ease the path that’s weary

To relieve the joy it steals.

But the advice she keeps on finding

Isn’t providing for her soul

They all think they have the antidote

But they haven’t walked HER weary road.

Sometimes answers aren’t that simple

Everything isn’t black and white

Their advice might work for some

But they aren’t the authority on life.

There’s only One who can truly lead

Only One who’s voice she’ll trust (John 10:27)

Because every word He speaks with truth

And it comes from a place of love.

So please don’t think you understand

For if you do, do you truly stand? (1 Corinthians 10:12)

Bear with the weak

And please take their hands

Let God speak the rest

And heal their land.

Don’t Be too Quick to Answer and give Absolute Advice

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

 and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Let God Be the Judge: He Judges the Heart

…… God does not view things the way people do. People look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

1 Samuel 16:7

God Will Lead the Way: Encourage yourself and others to seek his counsel and instruction.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;

I will counsel you with my eye upon you. (Psalm 32:8)

  1. My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feeds among the lilies.
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
    Songs 2:16,17

  3. I’m so glad we have the Lord to be our confidante always. Even when we feel no one else is there, we can trust He is. What comfort and love our Father brings when we turn to Him. Thank you for this post, Tina.
