ALWAYS THERE
Any time is a good time
To cry out to the Lord
Who comforts and faithfully answers
When you're desperate and feeling worn
Any time is a good time
To trust, to taste and see
That the Lord is good
And has good plans
For those who will pray and seek
For those who seek with heart and soul
Those who search to know His face
Will find that the Lord is faithful and kind
Full of mercy and amazing grace.

In my distress I called upon the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears. Psalm 18:6
I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. Psalm 120:1
This past week I experienced some heightened anxiety. It hasn’t felt very kind. However, feelings can distort the truth. Jesus said that in this world we would have trouble. But He has overcome the world. So allow me to exalt the Lord.
In my distress I have been literally crying out to Jesus. Way more faithfully than I normally pray. Dire need has a way of bringing one to their knees. Especially for personal needs or the needs of those we closely care about.
Last night I was distressed in regards to my lack of sleep, anxiety and all the broken pieces of my life that feel impossible to piece together, especially regarding my mental health and sleep issues.
But as I prayed, a song and verse popped into my mind.
“I was broken once for you, and no one loves you like I do.” –Matthew West/All the Broken Pieces
“Is anything too difficult for the Lord…?
”My answer: No.
And last, but not least… The Holy Spirit spoke,
Then…”Be still, and know that I am God.”
The second part of this verse affirms that God will be exalted.
“I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
We can expect that God will not only lead us to pray, praise, honor and glorify him, but also, He will very likely, give us good reasons for exalting Him, such as:
- Because He is good
- Because He listens to our prayers
- Because He answers our cries
- He sets our feet upon a rock
- He comforts us in our troubles
- He doesn’t break His promises to us
- He provides
- He heals
- He goes before us and behind us
- He is constantly vigilant– He never sleeps (Therefore, He is always on the case)
When I prayed I was very afraid that I would become stuck feeling absolutely dreadful. I feared there is no fix. Or if there is a fix, what are the odds that us flawed human beings would find it and choose it? How can I live like this?! But God….
God is our hope and our help in times of need. Jesus’ body was broken for us, so that we could receive all that God has promised to those who believe in Him. As long as God sits on the throne, which by the way He does (and this isn’t going to change), then we have hope for help in all of our afflictions, whether spiritual, relational, circumstantial, or in our bodies.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Psalm 121:1-2:
“Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”

Such a powerful reflection on the Lord’s Presence and strength in our lives, even when we feel like we have hit rock bottom. We can run to Him and He will always be there. Thank you for this, Tina. I’m praying for you and all you are struggling with, my friend. 🙏🏻

Any time is good time to cry out to the Lord, anytime is a good time to trust the Lord – love these words. Scripture verses are the one thing that grounds me when anxiety grips me. May the Lord cover you with His feathers and under His wings may you find refuge 🙏🏽💕

Hi Tina, I am keeping you in my prayers. I have an additional scripture for you: Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope. Keep reaching out to God—he listens. 🙏💕🌺🦋💐
