It Is Finished

It’s a battle

It’s a war

But you can’t see the arrows

And you can’t see the swords

It cuts to the bone and marrow

It divides a house and home

It rips apart a family

It leaves you feeling alone

But we don’t fight against flesh and blood

But against the rulers and authorities

The power of this world’s darkness

Against the spiritual powers of evil

In the heavenly world.

But we don’t give up

We dawn the full armor of God

We pray at all times

And on our feet we wear the Good News of peace to stand strong

We tie the belt of truth around our waist

And right living on our chest

With our shield of faith we stop arrows

We wear the helmet of Salvation to cover our heads

We stand strong in the Lord

His presence is our peace

We are not overcome

When the battle rages on

For we know this war can’t be lost

The battle has already been won

It was finished on the cross. ❤

Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time

They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were,  because He was teaching His disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill Him, and after three days he will rise.”

Mark 9:30-31

It Is Finished ❤

“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

John 19:28-30

Reminder: Jesus created the tree that would bare His weight and the weight of our sin.

“And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.”

      1. Canada. We’re on strict measures here for a while yet, but there are talks of easing off some on the restrictions at least in our part of the Country, but health care officials will have to be extra vigilant, and strict restrictions could be up again in the Fall months. The cases of the virus here aren’t too high yet. Both my husband and I do have health problems so we are staying isolated as much as we can. We aren’t wealthy, but we’re rich in spirit. ☺

  1. Wow Tina! Your poem is very strong and true. We need to be aware and alert for evil, but God’s armor, truth, and salvation keeps us strong. Jesus, won the battle! ✝

  2. A poem filled with many Scriptural truths, Tina. And the best of all, as you have said, is that it is finished. There may still be battles to fight, but we fight with hope and faith because we know the war has been won on the cross.
