Hope…

My thoughts are all over the place. I’m having such a hard time figuring out where to begin. I guess the begining is a good place to start, right?

This was our first trip together. We had only been married a year. A family reunion called us into the great outdoors and beyond our own Province: British Columbia. We took this trip to Alberta with Andrew’s parents. Many of our trips have been shared with them.

In the Province of Alberta you’ll view mountains, prairies, desert badlands and forests. The prairies do make for lovely photos, don’t they?

The photo above was taken during a pitstop in Banff, Alberta. Look at the elk!

I have no words. Now I’m just enjoying the photo.

This one makes me laugh. It was partly my fault that Andrew was so close to the elk. I wanted him in the shot, but, of course, Andrew’s parents and I we’re also telling him not to get too close. By it’s lifted head you can tell that this beautiful animal was a bit leary of Andrew’s close proximity.

As you can see, my photography skills needed some work. I should have turned the camera horizontal. I would have taken a better shot. In my defense, it was my first camera. (Yes, before digital!)

It takes time, mistakes and observation to make those adjustments. That’s life in a nutshell, isn’t it? We always need to be further educated. It doesn’t stop and God never stops working. I’ve been looking back with such mixed feelings and less than hopeful thoughts about the future, but the picture is always so much bigger. There is hope in seeking Jesus as we journey forward.

We Are Not Alone…

“For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

Romans 15:4

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Jeremiah 29:10-14

  1. Amen, my friend! There is such hope in the Lord! He is there in this entire learning process of life-and such a patient teacher, thankfully!! I love the pictures, by the way, even if you didn’t turn the camera on the one. It has character. 😊

    1. Thank you. I haven’t seen enough of Canada. There will be a photo with me in the next lot of pics from this trip, along with another photo failure. I’m sure there must be something to say about that as well. I’m thinking… 😀

  2. Wow, I like your photos! I’m what I refer to as a “semi-photographer” in that I have the skills but not the passion for it like I do movies and drawing. But I just adore these ones; might encourage me to take a few today just for “what else can I do’s” sake. Oh, and thank you for punching a ticket for the Lighttrain… you just earned plus one!
