Heart Songs

If I could write a symphony

While I’m down here on my knees

And If the melody could melt a room like wax

It still wouldn’t be enough

To express all that You have done.

If I could sing like angel choirs

And light the stage with flames of fire

And if my voice could shatter silence like glass

It could never say enough

Nothing speaks louder than Your love.

Lord, my best is all I can bring

It’s a humble offering

Still it sets Your heart to sing

As You’re watching over me.

Even when I’m at my worst

Choosing idols

Not putting You first

Still Your love it shelters me

And it sets my heart to sing.

And when we stand among the crowd

Singing praises, our voices loud

May it be a sweet resound

From hearts thankful Your love came down.

So, Lord, take the best of me

It’s a humble offering

But it’s all that I can bring

Still it sets Your heart to sing

Even when I’m losing time

A clumsy heart

A soul whose blind

Still Your love embraces me

And it sets my heart to sing.

“Sing to God, sing in praise of His name, extol Him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before Him — His name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.”

Psalm 68:4-5

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17

“After the promises of taking away sin, follow promises of taking away trouble. When the cause is removed, the effect will cease. What makes a people holy, will make them happy. The precious promises made to the purified people, were to have full accomplishment in the gospel. These verses appear chiefly to relate to the future conversion and restoration of Israel, and the glorious times which are to follow. They show the abundant peace, comfort, and prosperity of the church, in the happy times yet to come. He will save; he will be Jesus; he will answer the name, for he will save his people from their sins. Before the glorious times foretold, believers would be sorrowful, and objects of reproach. But the Lord will save the weakest believer, and cause true Christians to be greatly honoured where they had been treated with contempt.

  2. Beautifully put, Tina. Your heart is showing, and that’s good.

Sorry I haven’t been here much lately. I have been busy re-editing some of my books and creating my coloring book. That’s done now and I’m trying to play catch-up with e-mail and have had to delete a lot just so I’m not overwhelmed.

    God bless you.

    1. Thank you, Diane. I understand. Yes, your colouring book looks beautiful. I understand about the email. I get most of the blogs I follow sent to email. If I get behind I get backed up and have to go through and do the same to stay organized.

      God bless you too.
