She trusted and lived by faith
Setting out one blue-sky day
Mesmerized by tide pools
Such wonders she saw and gleefully proclaimed.
Like a river to the ocean
She was gently drawn down lovely streams
Following the current
Of all she loved and passionately believed.
Some days were grey
Her strength grew weak
But still the Lord she sought to seek.
Some ways were weary
Her hope grew thin
But He clung to her and strength grew within.
When the way wasn’t clear, He parted the sea
Made a way in the desert
And in her heart gave her peace.
How she prayed for joy when days seemed so bleak
How she longed to be held by her Prince of Peace
When He seemed so far, she was snagged by the reef.
She lamented, repented and begged for relief.
Then one very still morning, she saw such a light
A glimmer of hope brought unwrapped by the night
A message in a bottle filled with the tears she had cried.
Her Saviours favor
A promise of life.
Within her heart
Flows a mighty river
She believes that she’ll prosper
By His power within her.

God Will Help Her
“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.”
Psalm 46:4-5
The City of The River of God
“They to whom this stream passes shall know no thirst; they who possess it from them it shall come. Out of him ‘shall flow rivers of living water.’ That all-sufficient Spirit not only becomes to its possessor the source of individual refreshment, and slakes his own thirst, but flows out from him for the gladdening of others.
‘The least flower with a brimming cup may stand,
And share its dew-drop with another near.’”
MacLaren’s Expositions
The River (Let us trust and not be afraid.)
The river alludes to the graces and consolations of the Holy Spirit, which flow through every part of the church, and through God’s sacred ordinances, gladdening the heart of every believer. It is promised that the church shall not be moved. If God be in our hearts, by his word dwelling richly in us, we shall be established, we shall be helped; let us trust and not be afraid.
Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary
Believe in Jesus
“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 7:38
“He that believeth on me — With a living faith, and with his heart unto righteousness; as the Scripture hath said — As God in the Scriptures hath promised and attested in many places; out of his belly — From within him, from his mind and heart; shall flow rivers of living water — He shall receive spiritual blessings, or communications of divine grace, in so great an abundance, that he shall not only be refreshed and comforted himself, but shall be instrumental in refreshing and comforting others.”

“But He clung to her and strength grew within.” BINGO, sister! We don’t have God, He has US.
Blessings.

Hi Divyang! I have been up and down and side to side. 🤣😂😆 This River is winding for sure. Not sure which way I’m going some days. You’r comment is deep. I need to ponder this. Currently I’m more like a puddle than a river. 😆But God is working out the kinks and working on getting me to flow in the right direction. Thanks so much for dropping by. You always make me smile. Take care of yourself. 🧡💛💚

Tina, I love your “The River” poem. Especially ” Then one very still morning, she saw such a light – A glimmer of hope brought unwrapped by the night”… “A promise of life. May the light of Jesus enter our hearts, bringing us hope, peace, and the promise of eternal life.

A river is such a beautiful way to look at life, faith and hope. Even when a river dries up it just takes one storm to let it flow again. You are good at this. ❤️
