Par for the Kours

They called him J.J. As soon as this spry young man learned to walk, he was off and running. Literally.

J.J ran everywhere. When a close friend became a parkour fanatic, this born athlete was eager to give it a shot himself. He fell in love.

J.J. sprang off of everything, soaring through the air like a glorious gazelle. Jack may be nimble, and he can turn on a dime, but does this Jumpin’ Jack Flash have a razor sharp mind?

Gain Understanding

“My child, listen to what I say and remember what I command you. Listen carefully to wisdom; set your mind on understanding. Cry out for wisdom, and beg for understanding. Search for it like silver, and hunt for it like hidden treasure. Then you will understand respect for the Lord, and you will find that you know God.”

Proverbs 2:2-5

“While physical training has some value, training in holy living is useful for everything. It has promise for this life now and the life to come.”

1 Timothy 4:8

  2. That is so true. Must admit what JJ is doing right there is the mountaineering spirit. It’s 10% fitness 90% courage/belief and faith. I should remember that. I spend more time on physical training than the spiritual training some days. ❀️

  3. I have to admit that I had to look up parkour because I had never heard of it. Thank you for enlightening me. And thank you for this post. Sometimes I feel like I am in a tug of war. “Run the race” (Hebrews 12:1) is pulling me one way. “Resting in the Lord” (Matthew 1:28) is pulling me another. You have reminded me that I need to find a balance, keeping spiritual training as a priority, while also clinging to the Lord. When I seek His wisdom, I don’t have to hurry. He will provide what I need, when I need it.

    1. Yes, balance has been on my mind for a long time. My life has felt so off center for too long. But I couldn’t even see how off-balance if was or even why. The Lord opens eyes. It’s a slow and painful journey sometimes. But thankfully He also helps us to prioritize and put things into proper alignment. ❀❀

  4. Often we strive for physical fitness, forgetting to make time to become spiritually fit. For our journey, we need a strong foundation in the Word, then with faith, we can soar to new heights. πŸ¦… πŸŒŸπŸ’–πŸŒΊ
