A Peaceful Perspective
Unemployed
But I love my job.
Considered poor
Says the poverty line
Yet I feel so rich
For the Lord is mine!
It’s a world of trouble
But the Lord is my keep
He hems me in
Yet I shall not fear
For He is my peace!

“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, He who feeds His flock among the lilies.”
Song of Solomon 6:3
Peace in the Valley
When I chose the title and photo for this piece I was thinking of the verse above. Should I choose sheep? Should I choose Lilies? Then I came upon the Lilly of the Valley. That’s it! Jesus is our Peace Lilly of the Valley.
When life is tough, or it feels as if the odds are stacked against us, He is that sweet smelling aroma, making Him our peace in the valley. Not only is He our Peace Lilly, but He also turns us into Peace Lillies in the valley as well. (Galatians 5:22) Peace is only one, among many of the fruits that we shall bear through the Spirit of God. He is always there in the eye of the storm. He is also our eyes in the storm. He goes before us and protects us from all sides.
Jesus: Our Peace and our Protection
“The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
“You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
Psalm 139:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
Our Missing Peace ❤
Such a beautiful, peaceful song… Have a listen.
You silence my worry
When fear is deafening
I think I want answers
But what I really need is peace
My missing peace
JJ Heller/Missing Peace
I love the beautiful way you put that – Jesus is our Peace Lily of the Valley. That adds a whole new dimension to the thought of Jesus being our peace. It makes life feel a little lighter and a lot more pleasant, even in the midst of difficulties. I am so thankful to know He is in front of us, behind us, and beside us. We are secure and safe with Jesus. Blessings, dear friend! 🌺💕🌸

Thanks so much, Bridget. That’s a really lovely way of looking at the peace we have in Jesus. It automatically made me think of Phillipians 4:7.
“Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.”
He does make things more pleasant even in the midst of difficulties. Blessings to you as well, dear friend. 🌸💗🌺

A beautiful song, Jesus is our peace, and if we don’t have peace, we are missing Him, for He brings peace. It is important to let go and let God. I know I am a work in progress. Tina, have a joyful and peace-filled week. 💗🌼💐🌺
