Joy on the Rocky Road

Life is filled with hills and valleys

It’s sometimes up, but then it’s down

Smiles are mixed with tears and troubles

But my Jesus’ wears the crown.

He’s working on my reborn heart

Through the hardships I endure

With a gentle voice He softly speaks

Through the noise of a fallen world.

My human nature fails Him so

As I struggle to stay on the narrow path

I trip and stumble as I take each step

I get lost and need my Savior’s hand.

But He’s always humble, patient and kind

There’s hope when I see His compassionate face

He fills me with joy on the rocky road

When He steadies me with His amazing grace.

Obedience to God is Learned Through Suffering

“During the days of Jesus’ earthly life, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence. Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him…

Our Compassionate Jesus

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Hebrews 4:14-16

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Philippians 1:6

  1. Yes the road can be rocky for sure. But I am so thankful we can hold onto Jesus’ hand, as He guides us over each rock along the path. He helps to sustain our peace and joy. Thank you for sharing this encouraging post, my friend! ♥️
