I’ve never understood the need for rest more than I do now on my current path. My days are so cram packed with things that need tending to. I’ve been bogged down by assignments, deadlines and an abundance of stress. My mind is all over the place.
College has piled on more than ample work, so much so, that on several occasions I’ve had to work straight through weekends. The one week we were given for Christmas break was spent on completing assignments. 🙃
It’s no wonder I’m wondering how I’m going to get through this.
It’s not a great feeling when you’re forced to keep pushing without that down time. Thus, I really need to grab those restful moments as they come. I need to find moments to slow down, trust that my times are in God’s hands in the whirlwind of all that I’ve been experiencing, find ways to pace myself and complete this marathon.
I’m thankful that God reminds us that He’s our true resting place and our strength. When the water rises and we feel neck deep in stress and anxiety, His word reminds us that He is with us and never will forsake us.
…….“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
Isaiah 43:2-4 (The Message)
I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,….
These words don’t always come through loud and clear in the thick of things. But they do come through one way or another, be it through the provision of faithful companions, a song, an answered prayer, a peace that surpasses all understanding, or having the strength to make it over another hurdle and seeing the sun rise again. In the fire, rain, and storm hold on to hope in the Lord, knowing that He’s holding on to you, and find rest for your souls.
He sustains Us
Give your worries to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will never let good people down.
–Psalm 55:22
He makes us resilient
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
For His mercies are new every Morning 🌄
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23
Thank you for this reminder. I have been buried in stress lately as well. I need to learn to rest in the Lord. Sending hugs to you, my friend. I hope things get easier for you. 💜🤗

I also have been craving quiet, restful time. Time to relax and refresh some days; it feels like for every step I take forward, I end up going two steps backward. Knowing the Lord is with me and that His mercies are new every morning brings peace. Refocusing on my blessings brings back my smile. Hoping you are able to rest and find peace and joy. 🦋🙏🐝🌺

Tina, thank you for sharing this verse, hadn’t really noticed it before I don’t think…..”Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down.” –Psalm 55:22
So thankful for our faith in the Lord when times are stressful.

A refreshing, and revitalizing word! I too felt that way when i went back to get my Masters! Like you I had to remember who the redeemer is!
Also, it made me value time more and I began to eliminate time killers! I thank God for seeing you thru and Victory is already in his hand and so you are in the right hands! Be kind to yourself, my lovely friend!

Thank you so much, Tony! 😊 Yes, there is definitely some work needed regarding time killers. Well, some work. College does take a great chunk of time. I can’t do everything. I have to recognize that sometimes. I can only do my best. But I do have to put God at the very top of my list. With His grace and help He will get me back on track. 🙏 Keep doing what you do, my passionately poetic partner in preaching the positive news of our peace keeping, people redeeming, perfect and pleasing, Jesus. ❤ Peace out. But only temporarily. 😂🤣😂🤣
