I Can Do Anything

Without anything to back up the title of this post, you may assume that I’m a noticeably confident and proud individual who sees herself as strong and able. I can assure you that if you’d seen me this week this is not the impression, I would have given you. I was a mess.

My first week of college has come and gone. The first module of the ECE (Early Childhood Education) Program was ‘Student Success Strategies’ and, wow, did they ever give us an arsenal of strategies. In fact, I became quite overwhelmed with the amount of reading and other activities we had to complete each day. It was more than I’d expected. I debated titling this post ‘Push to Pass’ or ‘Fight or Fail’ as that’s exactly how I managed to complete it all. But that’s not quite the message I want to convey.

This week has been difficult and exhausting. I ended up teary on more than one occasion. However, it’s taught me two important things which I have in my possession. The first thing I have at my fingertips are the tools to succeed. College has supplied more than ample resources to help and guide me through the troubling times of my studies, including mental health strategies, a money management course, as well as phone numbers and email addresses to use for more aid.

While it’s not always easy to get a response to questions via the emails I’ve been provided, thankfully, God has supplied extra support through individuals on my personal support team who can give me insight or other emotional support when I need it. I’m not alone. I know how to contact them should I need them, and Jesus Himself is completely for my success and always available.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

–Philippians 4:13

The second valuable lesson that came to mind is that nothing I must go through to get to the finish line will be a waste. As I experience and overcome these difficulties, I too will be able to help others in their distress as I learn to use these valuable strategies.

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

–2 Corinthians 1:4

I know where my help truly comes from and all He has supplied. Do you, and will you accept His help and guidance?

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—

    he who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, he who watches over Israel

    will neither slumber nor sleep.

–Psalm 121:2-4

    1. 🤣😂🤣😂😂 So true David. I really don’t think I can do anything, but I do believe that with God all things are possible and that He can strengthen me both supernaturally and via all the tools He has supplies. He really does give us a lot of help. We just have to open our eyes to it and be willing to make use of those resources He’s supplied.

  1. Hi Tina! I like the title of your blog post. I believe we can reach our goals when we set our minds to success. Getting technology set up and learning techniques can be difficult. I am keeping you in my prayers, saying prayers for comprehension and your continuing success. Sending hugs! Blessings! 💖💐🌺

  2. Yes and Amen! Our help comes from the Lord. When we are overwhelmed and feel inadequate, we can stand on the Rock. I am sorry it had been a difficult first week. I pray things get better. But I am so proud of you for recognizing the secret is turning to God. I am sorry to say that I wasn’t always that swift when I have walked through difficulties. Thankfully, He never gives up on us.

    1. Thank you so much Bridget. I must admit that sometimes I find it really difficult to turn to God and hold on to him, But I’m learning that even when I struggle to do so He’s always got a hold of me.

  3. All the points you mentioned – I am sure helped you navigate this first week that was tough. Once you get into the flow of things you might wonder what you were feeling stressed about. I pray that you will find a rhythm in the work that you need to do and enjoy this time. Cheering you on and praying for you too.

  4. Proud of you sweet daughter. Remember- step by step. Focus on the work for that day and do not think of all of the work you need to do for the whole term. Focus on one day at a time each day what you need to do.

You can pray and ask Jesus for help in understanding what you study.
